Gently worn Communion and Confirmation dresses, dropped off anonymously at five locations across Westchester.

Every dress is cleaned, mended, and pressed by hand before it goes back out.

Given free to girls in Westchester and in eight countries. No forms, no cost, no questions asked.
I founded Sam’s Sacred Style to give gently worn dresses a second life while reducing textile waste and building a community rooted in generosity and dignity.

"How are we supposed to afford this?"
I heard that question more than once from families in my community.
Parents weren't asking for luxury. They were trying to afford a dress their daughter might wear only once.
At the same time, I knew closets throughout Westchester were filled with beautiful dresses that would never be worn again.
That disconnect didn't sit right with me.
Instead of accepting it, I decided to connect those two realities.
That's how Sam's Sacred Style began.

What began as my Girl Scout Gold Award project quickly grew into something much larger.
By bringing together churches, schools, nonprofit organizations, and volunteers, Sam's Sacred Style became an ongoing community initiative that collects, restores, and redistributes formalwear at no cost to families.
Every donated dress represents more than clothing. It represents confidence, dignity, and the opportunity to celebrate an important milestone.

These dresses were redistributed at events as recent as mid-August 2026 to organizations, churches, orphanages, schools, and community centers.
Dresses have been distributed throughout the United States and sent to the following countries:
1. Colombia
2. Dominican Republic
3. Guatemala
4. Haiti
5. Honduras
6. Jamaica
7. Mexico
8. Peru

By donating a dress:

She worried her daughter would feel different if anyone knew it had been donated. That moment completely reshaped my definition of leadership.
Leadership:
It's about listening without judgment.
It's about protecting someone's dignity.
It's about creating spaces where accepting help feels just as comfortable as offering it.
It isn’t only about organizing events.

I manage donation sites, recruit and train volunteers, organize inventory, restore donated dresses, coordinate transportation, lead educational workshops, maintain community partnerships, and communicate with families throughout the year.
The work doesn't end when an event is over.
That's when I re-evaluate what worked and start planning for the next one.
I didn't figure this out alone. A co-founder of Helpsy, the largest clothing collector in the Northeast, mentored me on how textile recovery works at scale, which is why Sam's Sacred Style tracks weight diverted alongside dresses distributed.
